Loans required for medical school can be daunting, especially for students who intend to practice in rural and underserved areas of Georgia. As a recipient of the Nathan Deal Scholarship, I am able to focus my energy on my medical education without worrying about the burden of student debt. I am tremendously grateful for the support provided by alumni and friends that has allowed me to pursue my dreams of becoming a rural physician. I am eager to pay the generosity forward as I serve my community, provide access to quality care and form intentional relationships with my future patients.
